1. Maruti Suzuki Alto S-CNG

The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 S-CNG is the most affordable car in India that can currently be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The CNG kit is offered with Alto's LXI (O) variant, priced at Rs 5.03 lakh (ex-showroom). The 796 cc petrol engine makes 40 hp and 60 Nm in CNG mode, and can only be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

2. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso S-CNG

Maruti Suzuki offers an optional CNG kit with two variants of the S-Presso, i.e. LXI and VXI, priced at Rs 5.90 lakh and Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. It gets a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with a CNG kit, putting out 56 horsepower and 82.1 Nm torque. Maruti Suzuki claims that the S-Presso CNG offers a fuel efficiency of 32.73 km/kg.

3. Maruti Suzuki Eeco S-CNG

The Eeco is yet another Maruti Suzuki car that is offered as a part of its S-CNG range. The CNG kit is offered with the 5-seater AC version of the van, priced at Rs 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The 1.2-litre engine generates 62 hp and 85 Nm, and is offered with a 5-speed MT only. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco CNG offers a mileage of 20.88 km/kg.

4. Tata Tiago iCNG

Tata Motors introduced the iCNG versions of both the Tiago and Tigor sub-4m siblings in January this year, with the former priced from Rs 6.30 lakh (ex-showroom) for the XE iCNG variant. The Tiago CNG is being offered in four variants - XE, XM, XT and XZ+. In CNG spec, the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine produces 73 hp and 95 Nm, and is available with a 5MT.

5. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R S-CNG

The Wagon R is the fourth Maruti Suzuki in this list of top 5 most affordable CNG cars in India. The CNG kit is available with Wagon R's 1.0-litre engine, the same one seen on the aforementioned S-Presso CNG. The Wagon R CNG is offered in two variants - LXI and VXI, priced at Rs 6.42 lakh and Rs 6.86 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

5. Hyundai Santro CNG

The Hyundai Santro qualifies to be on the list as well, since the Sportz CNG variant is currently priced at Rs 6.42 lakh (ex-showroom), the same price as its rival Wagon R CNG. The 1.1-litre 4-cyl engine on the Santro CNG makes 59 hp of max power and 85.3 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
