Zodiac signs in hiring: The unique strategy this firm swears by, but there’s more
The recruiting practices of a Chinese corporation that clearly forbid candidates born in the Year of the Dog have gone viral over the social media.
Based in Guangdong province, Sanxing Transportation is a logistics company that lately posted a clerical job paying 3,000 to 4,000 yuan (Rs 35,000 to 46,000). But the job description had an odd restriction: individuals born under the dog zodiac sign were specifically requested not to apply.
Let us dive into the fact of it!
The animals' sequence in the zodiac follows the "Great Race" in Chinese mythology, where their finishing order determines their zodiac sign. Every year in the cycle corresponds to one animal; this is further refined by the element connected with the year, therefore producing a 60-year cycle. Moreover very important in establishing the traits and impacts of every zodiac sign are the lunar calendar and the interaction of Yin and Yang.
Having said so, the hiring only based on zodiac sign may not be an excellent idea as zodiac sign is just one parameter of the horoscope, not the complete horoscope.
Zodiac sign (in this case) of Chinese company is merely based on a year of birth and rules out everyone born in a specific year. Rationally thinking, everyone born in a year will not be the same, hence, the approach of hiring only based on zodiac sign is flawed at broader level, and should be evolved to consider the complete horoscope of person and name to make a decision.
A bad hire can result in a 10 Week loss of productivity and around 30% of annual CTC in cost to the company. On the other hand, 65% startups fail due to cofounder conflicts.
This dichotomy of problems can be easily solved and proactively managed with evolving hiring practises by leveraging the Vedic Wisdom of Bharat (i.e. Astrology, Numerology among others).
Astrology & Numerology are a great gift of universe to decode the mind, body and soul of a potential hire and can fit synergistically into psychometric assessments.
Embracing astrology and numerology powered assessments can fuel into better awareness and understanding about culture fit

Let us dive into the fact of it!
How Chinese Zodiac Signs are Determined?
Chinese astrology (based on the principles of I Ching primarily), influenced by ancient cosmology, the Jupiter orbital cycle, Yin and Yang, and the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), determines the particular animal assigned to each year by a 12-year cycle known as the Chinese zodiac, sometimes known as "Shengxiao". Twelve animals comprise the zodiac: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.The animals' sequence in the zodiac follows the "Great Race" in Chinese mythology, where their finishing order determines their zodiac sign. Every year in the cycle corresponds to one animal; this is further refined by the element connected with the year, therefore producing a 60-year cycle. Moreover very important in establishing the traits and impacts of every zodiac sign are the lunar calendar and the interaction of Yin and Yang.
Is Zodiac Based Hiring True?
Zodiac Based hiring is something not unusual, this is very common practise all across globe and most likely it remains hidden to avoid any unwanted controversy.Zodiac sign (in this case) of Chinese company is merely based on a year of birth and rules out everyone born in a specific year. Rationally thinking, everyone born in a year will not be the same, hence, the approach of hiring only based on zodiac sign is flawed at broader level, and should be evolved to consider the complete horoscope of person and name to make a decision.
