* Introspective Analysis:
Today as I stand on the threshold of a promising career and a blissful love life, I feel very content. I had not envisioned that success would come calling so generously. I believe it all depends on the goodness you exude. It keeps coming back to you.
* Wanton Walk Down Memory Lane

My earliest memories are of growing up in a household of three sisters.Though I was born in Delhi, we shifted to Kolkata when I was eight. I was both disciplined and mischievous in the right proportions.
I used to bully my elder sister Bidisha a lot; my younger sister Vijeta has always been a baby for me. Dad and mom inculcated deep middle-class values in us. Over the years, it is these ethics that have shaped me as an individual.

* Modelling Beckons
Choosing a glamorous career, I believe, came naturally to me. I would say I was fashionable even when I was in my baby seaters!
Coming back to my adolescent years, it was while I was awaiting my board results that I was spotted for the Ford Supermodel Contest. I ended up winning the title. Life, as expected, took a total 360 degree turn from there.
* A Spectacular Start
As part of my contract I was flown to New York, where I learnt the finer nuances of modelling. There, I realised that though I was stylish in my demeanour, my knowledge about fashion was zilch! Back home, dad took some time and convincing to be assured of my career.
* Emerging Through The Crossroads
However, as the law of life goes, the smooth sailing did come to a halt. Once I was back in the country, seven long months had passed and I was out of public memory.
Work was scant and I realised a steep gruelling climb awaited me if I dreamt of being successful. I started from scratch, lived in a dingy truck driver's colony, slept on a humble chorpoy.
I still remember the drum water that I consumed every day. I relied for dinner on a pack of noodles. As days progressed, I began socialising.
During this time, I also met my best friend for life Susan, and later started dating Dino. We couldn't carry on the relationship for too long but today he is a friend I can count on.
* A Tryst With Limelight
I have a tendency of re-examining the course of my life often. As a successful model, just as I was on the verge of deciding something new, I was offered my first film Ajnabee.
Since my foray into films was unplanned I came with my own set of rules. I am glad I never got tied down to any make believe pretences and charted my own carefree yet calculated way.
* Romantic Revelations:
Meeting John has been a breakthrough moment in my life. Though the two of us are as different as frost and fire, it is the mutual understanding that gets the love applecart going.
His family to me is an extension of my own family. His mom, whom I call auntie Phiroza, is the best person to be with, while his dad is blessed with an unmistakable sense of humour.
As for marrying John, we have a good five years before we think of settling down. This apart, we are as good as a married couple minus, of course, the legalised marriage certificate.
* Future Flights Of Fancy
Cinema has been a medium for me to portray a range of characters that I could never be in real life. I am looking forward to films where I can cater to kids, to elderly and to the entire families.
* Of Sex And Sexuality
I am not bogged down by the sexy tag. I have always been sexy and not saucy. People may form an image of me but deep down I am a girl firmly rooted in traditional values. I respect family ties and stay away from smoking, alcohol or substance abuse.
* Wisecrack Wisdom
Over the years, I have begun appreciating life much more. I realise I am more fortunate than others. The way nature is hitting back at us, nothing is permanent.
So, I believe in being happy each day of my life. For the moment, life is saccharine sweet and I am loving every moment of it.
