Ever heard of painting on eggs and bulbs? Well, that's what Lucky Samrat excels in. He speaks to AT about his peculiar passion. To make a dream come true, one has to start somewhere. Lucky Samrat, an artist, too started from scratch. He used to paint walls and decorate houses in the initial stage of his career. Very soon, he managed to earn his living with the help of the creative art in him.
While a normal painter's apparatus is brush, colours and canvas, Samrat needs things like eggs, nails, bulbs and soaps to bring out the talent in him. That's true! He paints on egg shells, inside the bulbs and carves out images from toilet soaps. What's more? This die hard fan of Mahatma Gandhi has even made a portrait of Gandhiji and Jawaharlal Nehru simply writing 'Bharat' and 'Satya Mev Jayate' without any lines or curves. "Gandhiji is my idol and inspiration. I have been reading about him since childhood and have even finished reading his autobiography," says Samrat, who has studied till class X.Currently an art teacher in a private institute, Samrat plans to put up an exhibition of his artistic work. When asked why he paints on easily breakable things, he replies, "I want to do something different and bring innovation in my work everyday. And as far as painting on breakable things is concerned, I do that for its value. For, it will be taken care of and valued more if it's delicate," he says.
