Saurabh Pandey shares how he was rescued from drug addiction

Saurabh Pandey currently seen in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's 'Razia Sultan' tells about how he survived drugs abuse and got out of it. "Drugs was never my thing. Well usually there are a few reasons why one takes drugs. It can be out of boredom, some issues which you don't want to deal with. Basically, for switching off the mind which is not a good thing to do. Running away from the problems and not dealing with them will create more problems. If we listen to our heart our soul, it will tell you what's the right thing to do. I listened to my heart and made the decision to never do it again. After all it was not doing any good to me."

When asked about the tips on getting rid from drugs addiction, the TV actor says, "I tried a few things. First thing to do is to change association and stop meeting the people who take drugs. I associated with spiritual people. My love Zara Barring was the one who was my spiritual association. She was the one whose tears made me promise myself not to touch drugs again, no matter what. I will not let drugs destroy my life and make her cry. Then I diverted my mind from the craving. The trick is to keep your mind occupied. My tool was spirituality, reading self-improvement books like Soul Wise, Journey home etc. This will give you more inspiration to not do drugs. I also Meditate. From meditation a lot of good things happen. Its simply focuses on your breath. It's relaxing and naturally intoxicating. You feel so free, good and light that you don't feel then need of having any drugs. Some good places to learn meditation is YSS of India by Parmahansa Yogananda and Bramha Kumari or any Yoga teacher who teaches this. Meditation also helps you to deal with your problems and solve them. Work out with clean diet this will purify your blood and the craving will drop for drugs. Look into your problems and deal with them with full heart and solve them. Balance in everything is the key to a perfect life. Last but not the least, don't touch drugs again."

Sapna Bhavnani: Celebrity hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani confessed that she was gang-raped 20 years ago and why it took her years to voice the incidence. Here is the post:Says Sapna, "When I was 14, I used to talk to boys; drive motor cycles, smoke cigarettes and people in Bandra would often call me a whore because of those things. I never understood the term back then, but sure if doing all those things made me a whore-- I'd take it gladly. After my father’s death, I moved to Chicago where there were so many like me and it gave me the freedom to get inked, experiment with my hair and just be myself. One Christmas Eve in Chicago, I walked out of a bar alone late at night in a short dress and red lipstick. I was 24 and had been drinking, when from a dumpster a group of guys walked upto me and put a gun to my head asking me to give them blow jobs, eventually leading to gang rape. I remember walking home, showering and pushing this incident to the back of my mind for years and never letting it break my spirit – I still wear short dresses and the brightest red on my lips. In years to come, I got married to my high school sweetheart, faced domestic violence and walked out of the marriage wondering how this could happen to ME, a feminist? It’s because sometimes there are things that are beyond your control. We live in a world where everyone stresses the importance of voicing yourself or walking out of tough situations, but I just want to say this— no one wants to be beaten up, get raped or sell their bodies. It took me 20 years to voice my incident, but for me a woman keeping it all within her because she has no other choice isn’t a sign of weakness – it’s a mark of strength and something we need to start respecting.”

Between doing rounds of a city court, Daljeet confessed about her abusive marriage of five years. The actress confessed how violence was a part of her marriage right from the beginning. "He pushed me in my father's presence. My thigh was bruised for almost a month. But I forgave him, thinking it takes time for a marriage to work. On another occasion, he twisted my arm in front of his parents. But I finally decided enough was enough, when he came charging towards me while I had Shaarav in my arms. It could have turned fatal for my 40-day-old premature child. That day, I left for my parents' home in Bangalore," she says. "He threatened me with dire consequences if I left the house. Fearing for my son and my life, I went inside the room to pack my belongings. I was standing on a stool to pull out the suitcase, when he threw me down. He then locked the door from inside. Every time I would head to the door to escape, he would throw me on the floor like a ball. At one point, I opened the window and started screaming for help. He held me by my neck, shut the window and pushed me to the floor again. I hit the bed, my back was bleeding and my hand was terribly bruised. Suddenly, I realised that my maid was outside and requested her to get help. Shaleen held me with one hand, opened the door and threatened her too against leaving the house. Fortunately, she called my friend, who in turn alarmed a lot of other friends. I don't know who called the police, but within 15 minutes, they arrived."
