Indrani and Khanna were Facebook friends since 2013

MUMBAI: If friends and sources in Kolkata had reported Sanjeev Khanna and Indrani Mukerjea’s renewed connection and multiple meetings beyond their April 2012 rendezvous in Mumbai, their Facebook pages corroborate the fact that the two were indeed back to being ‘friends’.
Contrary to Khanna’s lawyer Salim Rahaman’s claim that “Khanna admitted that he was in Mumbai on April 24 and 25 but the relationship between him and Indrani had grown bitter afterwards”, TOI found Khanna’s Facebook page tells a different story.
Quite visibly, Khanna’s list of 1,245 friends on Facebook includes Indrani; Indrani’s timeline activities since 2013 show Sanjeev as an active participant. And there are at least two instances of open acknowledgment between them in terms of pleasantries that friends actively exchange on social media.
Indrani, who seems to have been more discreet, has refrained from reacting to Khanna’s posts publicly. Interestingly, her publicly visible profile on Facebook does not show any activity between 2009 and 2012.
On scrolling through Indrani’s timeline since March 2013, there are posts that show Sanjeev as one of the first few to have ‘’liked’ photographs Indrani had posted — one, a selfie of Vidhie and Indrani in March 2013 and another a photograph of Vidhie as a child that Indrani posted in August 2013.
If at one level, it reflects Khanna’s weakness for his daughter, a possible motive behind his involvement in the Sheena Bora murder case. It would be interesting to know who might have been the one to reach out with the friend request on Facebook and when. And of course, how all of this transpired a decade after their separation, an acrimonious divorce and a battle for their daughter Vidhie’s custody that eventually Khanna lost.
