In his announcement, Trump praised Nunes’ experience, particularly his role in investigating the "Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax," referring to the claims of Russian interference in the 2016 election. “Devin will draw on his experience as former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to provide me with independent assessments of the effectiveness and propriety of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s activities,” Trump wrote.
The President’s Intelligence Advisory Board (PIAB) is an independent body within the executive office that provides the president with advice on the effectiveness of US intelligence operations. The board's members are drawn from outside the federal government, allowing them to offer unbiased insights on intelligence matters.
