What Donald Trump's new FBI deputy director Dan Bongino thinks about Barack Obama

Dan Bongino, newly appointed as FBI deputy director by US President Donald Trump, has long been a vocal critic of Barack Obama, connecting the dots between several high-profile political scandals and the former President being in-charge at that time.

In a video that resurfaced following his appointment, Bongino stated, "Spygate, Obama was in charge. Collusion hoax, Obama's in charge. The Hillary email scandal, Obama's in charge. The bribery scandal, Obama's in charge. There's a common thread. This isn't a conspiracy theory. What did I just say that's not factually accurate?"


Bongino also linked Obama to allegations against ex-US President Joe Biden, referencing claims that Biden accepted a $5 million bribe as vice president. He insisted, "Now, as this Biden scandal explodes with this allegation that he took a $5 million bribe as vice president, Obama's vice president, keep that in mind," before highlighting financial records that allegedly show payments flowing into what he called the “Biden Inc. crime network”.

Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and conservative commentator, was announced as FBI deputy director on Sunday by Trump, who praised him as "a man of incredible love and passion for our Country." He will serve under Kash Patel, another Trump ally who was recently sworn in as FBI director.

Critics of the decision believe that both men lack FBI experience and have raised concerns about their ability to lead the nation’s top law enforcement agency.

Their appointments come as the FBI faces internal upheaval, following the forced resignation of senior officials and scrutiny over investigations related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Patel has already signaled plans to restructure the FBI, including relocating personnel and shifting focus back to traditional crime-fighting duties.

Bongino’s history with Obama
Bongino’s criticism of Obama is not new. As a former Secret Service agent, he served on Obama’s presidential detail but later turned against his former boss. In 2013, he claimed he resigned from the Secret Service due to the "fog of scandals in the Obama administration."

He further suggested that “people would be shocked, scared if they knew everything” about what went on behind closed doors, as reported by ABC News.

During his time as a conservative commentator, Bongino has frequently accused Obama of corruption and misconduct. His stance has made him a leading figure in Trump’s political movement, particularly in pushing allegations of election fraud and government overreach.

With Bongino and Patel now at the power positions, the FBI is expected to take a dramatically different direction. Patel has vowed to investigate alleged corruption within the agency, while Bongino has long supported Trump’s claims of political bias within federal law enforcement.

While Democrats express concerns that the appointments could turn the FBI into a tool for Trump’s political agenda, Bongino and Patel’s supporters argue they are working to "restore justice" and remove what they see as deep-state influence.
