"To many people, including many people watching right now, the results were shocking and even horrifying," American actress Ego Nwodim stated.

According to Associated Press, Heidi Gardner noted, "Donald Trump, who forcibly tried to overturn the results of the last election, was returned to office."

Bowen Yang followed with, "And now, thanks to the Supreme Court, there are no guardrails."

The programme then took an unexpected turn. Keenan Thompson said: "That is why we at 'SNL' would like to say to Donald Trump, we have been with you all along." The cast continued with enthusiastic declarations of support, introducing "Hot, Jacked Trump."

James Austin Johnson appeared as a physically enhanced president-elect, stating in his Trump impression but speaking personally, "From now on we're going to do a very flattering portrayal of Trump, because frankly he's my hero. He's going to make an incredible president and eventually king."

Bill Burr hosted this first episode of the season without Maya Rudolph's Kamala Harris portrayal. His monologue initially avoided politics before addressing the election directly: "Alright, let's get to what you all want to talk about. Alright ladies, you're 0-and-2 against this guy."

The show differed from previous post-election episodes, such as the 2016 broadcast featuring Kate McKinnon's poignant rendition of "Hallelujah" as Hillary Clinton. This time, Dana Carvey appeared as Elon Musk, following the cast's expressions of admiration.
