USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75) collided with the merchant vessel Besiktas-M near Port Said, Egypt, in the Mediterranean Sea, the US Navy said in a statement. The incident occurred at around 11.46pm (local time). The Navy reported no injuries or flooding aboard the aircraft carrier, and its propulsion systems remain unaffected.

"The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) was involved in a collision with the merchant vessel Besiktas-M at approximately 11.46pm local time, Feb. 12, while operating in the vicinity of Port Said, Egypt, in the Mediterranean Sea," the statement said.

The collision is currently under investigation.
