Who is Shelley Luther
In 2020, she served a seven-day jail sentence after a Dallas County judge found her in violation of both civil and criminal court contempt, Fox News reported.

Her salon, Salon à la Mode, remained operational despite court orders, resulting in daily fines of $1,000.
Her previous political endeavours included an unsuccessful state Senate campaign in 2020, where she lost to Drew Springer in District 30's runoff election.

After an initial defeat to incumbent Reggie Smith in the 2022 Republican primary for Texas House District 62, Luther emerged victorious against Smith in the March 5 primary, advancing to the 2024 general election.
