A 70-year-old woman from New York told ANI, "I marched for Hillary in 2016 and I am marching for Kamala in 2024. We vote for Kamala because we don't want to have Trump and in addition to that, we need to have a female leader because when women do well, everybody does well because we care... We need Kamala, we need her brain, we need her fierceness..."

Supporters expressing concerns over votes for Trump

Darcy from Maryland emphasized the importance of every vote in the upcoming election, expressing her concerns about Donald Trump. She told ANI, "I am here at this rally because every vote is absolutely essential for this election. I voted early for Kamala Harris. I believe anyone who is voting for Trump is voting for a fascist, who intends to change our democracy if not destroy it."

Supporters talks about 'personal connect' with Harris

An Arizona resident, originally from the Philippines, also voiced her support for Harris. She told ANI, "A lot of things she stands for resonate with me. I am an immigrant from the Philippines, so a lot of things that she backs are very personal to me and my family."

An event with speeches from well-known activists advocating for a future without domination and violence took place, gathering a large crowd. Participants rallied together and then marched from Freedom Plaza, passing by the Washington Memorial and reaching the White House. The crowd showed strong support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Supporters participate in early voting

A student told AFP she had participated in early voting and expressed that it was "very empowering that my first vote was for a woman." She displayed a sign that read, "If boys will be boys, then women will be presidents."


Other protestors carried signs with messages such as "Voting prevents unwanted presidencies" and "A woman's place is in the Oval Office."

Organizers estimated around 15,000 participants at the event. Similar marches were held in other cities across the United States.
