Maye Musk, a renowned model and dietitian in her own right, replied to her son’s statement with a heartfelt reflection on his early ambitions and their real-world impact.

"And his ideas were crazy," she posted. "He said he wanted to save lives by launching satellites for people stranded on hilltops, in forests, and in the ocean. I thought that would be good, but had no idea how important it was. Starlink is essential now after Hurricane Helene. Elon sees the future."
