Melania Trump hosts lavish fundraiser in Trump Tower penthouse
Former First Lady Melania Trump dazzled attendees at a recent Trump Tower fundraiser, where she wore a striking "fire engine red Valentino dress with appliqué flowers and Christian Louboutin pumps," according to an insider.
The event, held in the Trumps' penthouse, was an intimate gathering of megadonors supporting the Log Cabin Republicans, a conservative LGBT group. A guest remarked, "Hors d’oeuvres and Champagne flowed as the first lady generously welcomed the guests to her home with off-the-cuff remarks," emphasizing her and Donald Trump's support for the group.
Notable attendees included Bill White, Bryan Eure, Doug Colter, Hannah and Duke Buchan, former Senator Kelly Loeffler, Kellyanne Conway, former cabinet member Ric Grenell, Nazee Moinian, former diplomats Georgette Mosbacher and John Rakolta with his wife Terry, former US Attorney General Matt Whitaker, and Melania’s stylist Hervé Pierre.
The event, which raised over $1.4 million, immediately followed another fundraiser at the Fifth Avenue home of Duke and Hannah Buchan. A source shared, "Both events were sold out in a short period of time," and praised Melania's elegance and eloquence, noting she took the time to speak with everyone.
This was the first campaign event of the year at the Trumps' personal residence and Melania's second solo appearance supporting her husband's presidential campaign, following an LCR event at Mar-a-Lago in April. A guest highlighted Melania's unity speech, quoting her saying about the election, "We will see what happens, but, we must win."
The funds raised are intended for an outreach initiative targeting swing-state voters, including suburban women and gay and lesbian conservatives in battleground states. According to LCR president Charles Moran, the event set a fundraising record for the organization.
