MAGA whips out the big guns: Nicki Minaj makes surprise appearance beside Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA event

Rapper Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on Sunday, joining Erika Kirk, the widow of late MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, for a Q&A session.

Minaj answered multiple questions from Kirk and even urged young men to have “handsome, dashing” qualities similar to of President Donald Trump. She also made fun of the California governor and Democratic leader, Gavin Newsom. The rapper urged people to not like "Newscum."

“He [Trump] has given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high,” Minaj told Erika, referring to the GOP leader. Kirk also recalled Charlie saying he enjoyed bringing surprise guests to TPUSA gatherings and events.


Minaj previously supported Democrats such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, but she has recently shown strong support for Republicans. She praised both Trump and vice president JD Vance for their ability to connect with the American people. Minaj also criticised Newsom for his stance on transgender children.

During the discussion, Minaj spoke openly about her religious journey and activism, particularly regarding the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. “We won’t be silenced ever again; we will speak up for Christians wherever they are in this world,” she said. She had earlier praised Trump's determination to end such atrocities in Nigeria. She said: “I just got tired of being pushed around… I’m not going to back down anymore. I’m not going to back down ever again.”

Minaj also referred to JD Vance as an “assassin” while speaking to Erika Kirk.

To which Erika replied: “I love this woman. She's an amazing woman. She has a soul and a heart for the Lord. And words are words, but I know her heart and it doesn't even matter. And you say what you wanna say because I know your heart.”

JD Vance later on the mic praised Nicki Minaj and said: “I have to admit, today solved one of the great insecurities that I had, because as I’ve watched Nicki Minaj come out and declare her support for the truth… I’ve had this little nagging voice in the back of my head wondering whether she thinks I look like the JD Vance meme. And it turns out, and I confirmed when she walked down the steps, Nicki Minaj actually knows what I really look like, and that is the best tribute that I could possibly imagine.”
