NEW DELHI: Magesh Kumar Natarajan, a project manager from India living in the UAE won a life-changing jackpot on Friday that will earn him more than Rupees 5.5 lakh every month for the next 25 years.
Natarajan, 49 years old, was from Ambur, Tamil Nadu. He was the first global grand prize winner outside the UAE of the FAST5 Grand Prize of Emirates Draw.
Magesh Kumar who had lived most of his life in Tamil Nadu, had a unique turn of events when he was assigned a four-year job stint in Saudi Arabia from 2019 to earlier this year. His journeys through Dubai eventually led him to find the Emirates Draw.
Natarajan's win didn't quite sink in until the Emirates Draw officials made that life-changing phone call, making him truly believe that he won.
“I faced a lot of challenges in my life and during my studies. Many people from society helped me to complete my education. It's my time to give back to society. I will ensure that my contribution to society reaches needy people,” Natarajan told PTI.
“It was an unbelievable moment that turned out to be one of the happiest and memorable days of my life. I am also planning to invest in my daughters' education and secure a brighter future for my family,” He added.
Now that he has won, Magesh's main focus is to help the community and assist those who require support.

Earlier in July, Mohammed Adil Khan from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, who worked at a real estate company in Dubai for the past five years, was named the first winner of the FAST 5 draw.
