Frustration growing? ‘Nothing is being done’: Trump urges Attorney General Bondi to prosecute his rivals
US President Donald Trump publicly pressed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Saturday, urging her to use the power of the Justice Department more aggressively against his political adversaries. In a post on Truth Social, Trump framed his message as a response to criticism from allies over what he called a lack of action in federal investigations.
“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done,’” Trump wrote, naming former FBI Director James Comey, Senator Adam Schiff of California, and New York Attorney General Letitia James. “We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility.”

Trump’s post also criticised Erik Siebert, the former US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, who resigned on Friday amid pressure from the president to charge James with mortgage fraud. Trump claimed Siebert had falsely told the media that he quit and that the Justice Department had no case, insisting, “No, I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers, and legal pundits, say so.”
In a subsequent post, Trump appeared to support Bondi personally, describing her as “very careful, very smart, loves our Country,” but suggested that the Eastern District of Virginia needed a tougher prosecutor. He recommended his lawyer Lindsey Halligan for the role, saying, “Lindsey Halligan is a really good lawyer, and likes you, a lot.” Meanwhile, Mary “Maggie” Cleary has been appointed as acting U.S. attorney for the district.
Trump expanded on his frustration later Saturday as he left the White House for an event in Mount Vernon, Virginia. “I just want people to act. And we want to act fast,” he told reporters. “If they’re not guilty, that’s fine. If they are guilty, or if they should be charged, they should be charged, and we have to do it now.”
The president’s comments linked his long-standing grievances over his own criminal prosecutions and congressional impeachments to the potential investigation of his adversaries. Trump highlighted that Democrats had “impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!”
Trump has repeatedly accused Comey, Schiff, and James of wrongdoing, despite no evidence of criminal conduct. He fired Comey as FBI director in 2017, faced impeachment led by Schiff over Ukraine aid, and has fought multiple civil and criminal cases involving James.

Even diehard critics of Trump might be tempted now to admire his multi-tasking ability. Just review all that he has done since assuming power at the White House in January. Isn't it amazing -- the sheer size, amount and numbers of tasks, issues, problems, criticisms, narratives he has dealt with so far, and is still doing it relentlessly, tirelessly. Simply amazing. How can one single human brain keep track of so many paths and still remain nonchalant, confident, focused? Mexico, Canada, the EU, Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Israel, Gaza, India-Pak, trade tarriffs, anti-immigration, Fed rate cut, internal Rep politics, taking on Dems, Left-Right polarization, court cases, Epstein saga, state visits, golf retreats, falling out with Musk, TikTok deal... so much going on, but somehow he stays balanced, even equanimity-personified. Even after Kirk's incident, Trump remained largely composed, calm despite inner anger. Wow. Why can't Indian leaders be like that? What ails India, Indian netas, Indian babus and Indian public?
