WASHINGTON: The FBI was tipped off that the three Kennedy brothers, Marilyn Monroe and members of Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack held sex parties in John F Kennedy’s suite at the Carlyle hotel, according to confidential bureau files.
Previously secret FBI records released on Monday reveal that former senator Edward Kennedy engaged in such activity with his two brothers — John and Robert.
According to New York Post, a racy memo from 1965 notes that a New York woman reportedly had “considerable information about sex parties” involving the Kennedy brothers John and Robert, Monroe, Sinatra and entertainer Sammy Davis Jr.

While the source of the information is not described fully in the documents, “it was reported” that Jacqueline Hammond, the wealthy ex-wife of a former US ambassador to Spain, knew about the raunchy parties at the upscale Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side.
Kennedy, who served in the Senate for nearly half a century, died last August.
The release of the documents had been highly anticipated by historians, scholars and others interested in the life and long public career of one of America’s most prominent and powerful politicians.
The informant told the FBI that it was rumored that mafia bosses hoped to use associates of Sinatra to ensnare Edward and Robert in compromising positions with women because of the latter’s war on organized crime as US attorney general from 1961 to 1964, the informant said. But the FBI didn’t probe into the claims, it said.
It was widely reported in the 1960s that JFK kept a two-bedroom apartment at the Carlyle, and it was later claimed that he spent the night there with Monroe after she sang “Happy Birthday, Mr President” at his 45th-birthday celebration.
