Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram users all around the US experienced significant outages on Monday, Downdetector website reported.
Around 1:44 pm Eastern Time, users had reported over 8,000 issues with Facebook and more than 4,000 with Instagram.
According to Downdetector, both Facebook and Instagram services were largely restored for most users after the disruption.
At the peak of the outage around 1:35 pm ET, over 12,000 incidents were reported for Facebook, while for Instagram the numbers were more than 5,000 issues.
As of 2:09 pm ET, reports started to decrease significantly, approximately 450 for Instagram and 659 for Facebook.
Earlier this year, Meta global outage affected hundreds of thousands of users for more than two hours due to a technical issue, generating over 550,000 reports for Facebook and around 92,000 for Instagram at its peak, according to Downdetector.
