NEW DELHI: A former CIA agent pleaded guilty to drugging and sexually abusing at least two dozen women across the world during his tenure, reported Mirror.
Brian Jeffrey Raymond, 47, faces over two decades in prison for taking hundreds of videos and photos of naked women while they were unconscious. The offences date back to 2006 that continued up until 2020 at different places, where Raymond was stationed.
Raymond met women on dating apps and invited them to his apartment in Mexico City, where he was posted at the US Embassy between August 2018 and May 2020.
In his apartment, he would offer them a drink and, as court documents reveal, touch their bodies while they were unconscious and unable to provide consent.
Quoting an official, the Mirror reported that the former agent "photographed and recorded at least 28 nude or partially nude people before his arrest". Later, as part of the investigation, the FBI set up a website to encourage potential victims to come forward.
In response to his guilty plea, Raymond will be sentenced on September 19, 2024, facing a potential life of supervised release and a requirement to pay restitution to his victims.
"Raymond travelled a large amount for both work and leisure", the FBI said.
A judge is set to decide the specific sentence on September 19, 2024. Raymond will also face a lifetime of supervised release and will be obligated to provide restitution to his victims.
“Brian Jeffrey Raymond, 47, a former US Government employee, pleaded guilty today to drugging and sexually abusing numerous women in multiple countries, including photographing and video recording dozens of nude and partially nude women without their consent while they were unconscious and incapable of consenting," a statement from the attorney’s office read, as per Mirror.
“According to court documents, Raymond, of La Mesa, California, was most recently employed by the U.S. government at the US Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico. Raymond admitted to drugging and sexually assaulting several women in his embassy-leased housing and elsewhere between 2006 and 2020,” reported the outlet.
