Truth Social account where he can be seen presenting it in front of a few NATO leaders including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, President of the European Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The symbolism of the image visually depicting Canada and Greenland as parts of America has drawn attention, not only from international authorities but also social media users in Canada who are now fearing and resisting an invasion.
Netizens react to Trump's post
People on various social media platforms resisted Trump's idea of acquiring Canada as an American territory.
"As a Canadian, let me be crystal clear: we didn’t ask for this, we don’t want this and we’re not your imperial side quest, you f****** delusional sack of s***. Now f*** all the way off, sideways, and take your b******* empire fantasy with you," wrote one enraged Canadian on X.
"Neoimperialism, 2026. - colorised." added another.
"Is he forcing WW3??" asked another.
Trump's social media drama
The American President continues his shenanigans not only in press interviews but also in social media posts. Along with sharing this image, he shared another image of him hoisting the US flag in Greenland with VP JD Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Adding fuel to his already flaring fire with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump shared images of what he described as texts from the French President to him. “My friend, we are totally in line on Syria. We can do great things in Iran. I do not understand what you are doing on Greenland,” the message read.
All of these acts are intensified efforts to acquire the world's largest island from Denmark. According to Trump, Denmark is incapable of protecting the Arctic island and has insisted that the US must act decisively.
France, along with other European nations has staunchly rejected American attempts at Greenland's takeover, something that seems apparent in Macron's texts to Trump. Thus, explaining the hostility the US President seems to have against the French leader.
