Elon Musk explains 'controversial' email to federal employees amid 'd**k boss move' attack: Trivial task, pulse check

As questions are being raised as to whether Elon Musk has the authority to ask federal employees what they have done in last week, Elon Musk doubled down on the mail than was sent to all federal employees and said replying to the mail should not take more than five minutes. And the bar is really low to check if the employees can reply writing anything that makes sense.
Elon Musk explains 'controversial' email to federal employees amid 'd**k boss move' attack: Trivial task, pulse check
Elon Musk says replying to the mail that asked federal employees to write five things they did last week should not take more than five minutes.
All federal employees have been sent an email from their respective departments asking them about their five accomplishments in the last week to be submitted by Monday 11.59 pm. Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk announced on X that no reply to the mail would be considered as resignation leading to a major row with Democrats calling this a 'd**k boss' move.
Elon Musk went on to explain that it was consistent with President Donald Trump's instructions and it was a very basic pulse check, the bar is really very low and that replying to the mail won't even take five minutes.

Dem senator Tina Smith said this is the ultimate d**k boss move from Musk except that he is not even the boss, 'he's just a d**k'.
Elon Musk said some federal employees don't even check their emails because they don't exist and the exercise is only to detect that fraud. "The reason this matters is that a significant number of people who are supposed to be working for the government are doing so little work that they are not checking their email at all! In some cases, we believe non-existent people or the identities of dead people are being used to collect paychecks. In other words, there is outright fraud," Elon said adding that it is a trivial task.
"To be clear, the bar is very low here. An email with some bullet points that make any sense at all is acceptable! Should take less than 5 mins to write," Musk said.
The passing grade is only to write an email that makes sense, Elon said.

Promotion for good responses
Amid panic in response to Elon's threat following the email, The DOGE chief said a large number of good responses have also been received and these people should be considered for promotion.
FBI chief Kash Patel asked his staff to pause for the moment in replying the moment in a signal of an internal clash though experts said it is probably not a clash but something else as they all act in tandem.
