As Donald Trump is all set to enter the White House in a week's time, his son Donald Trump Jr announced his new venture that he would be joining Kalshi, the prediction market, as a strategic advisor. Founded in 2018, Kalshi is a financial exchange and prediction marker based in Lower Manhattan. As Donald Trump Jr made the announcement, he also said how they were following Kalshi's prediction for the US presidential election.
"On Election night at Mar-a-Lago, while biased outlets called the race a coin toss, my family and close friends used the prediction market @Kalshi to know we won hours ahead of the fake news media. I immediately knew I had to contribute to their mission. Today, I am proud to announce that I am joining Kalshi as a strategic advisor," Donald Trump Jr said.
"The Kalshi team has worked hard, sued the Biden administration, and achieved the impossible feat of becoming the first and only legal prediction market in the US. I'm excited to be a part of what they're building."
"Now, time to trade on whether Biden is going to pardon Fauci and Liz Cheney ��" he said. Kalshi, in fact, has a running bet on whether Biden will pardon Bennie Thompson of Liz Cheney -- with Bennie Thompson at 43 per cent and Cheney at 36 per cent.
Tarek Mansour, Kalshi’s co-founder, told Wall Street Journal that Trump Jr. would advise the company on forging new partnerships and reaching a broader audience as it looks to “aggressively expand” the business.
Not joining Donald Trump's administrationDon Jr made it clear earlier that he would not be joining his father's administration. He recently joined venture capital firm 1789 Capital to invest in companies espousing conservative values and what it calls the "Republican/Parallel” economy. He is also on the board of Trump Media & Technology Group, which operates the social-media platform Truth Social.
