Donald Trump amplifies 'revenge' rhetoric as US presidential race heats up
On Truth Social this Tuesday, former US president Donald Trump shared a poll, revealing that "revenge" is the predominant word voters connect with his potential second term.
As the first Republican nomination contest approaches, Trump's post came after a separate Truth Social message on Christmas Day, where he wished his political adversaries to "rot in hell."
Trump's decision to re-share the poll, displayed as a word cloud with "revenge" in prominent red capital letters, indicates his focus on a "retribution" agenda as the US enters an election year.
British pollster JL Partners conducted the poll.
Trump, steadfast in his refusal to acknowledge his loss in the 2020 US election and continuing to assert without evidence that the election was manipulated, has repeatedly pledged to seek revenge against his adversaries if he regains office. This includes targeting the Department of Justice, the federal bureaucracy, and President Joe Biden.
Such declarations have raised concerns about escalating political tensions in the United States, potentially leading to intense civil discord. The division and sharp polarisation among Americans has generally worked well for Trump.
Trump and his supporters have vowed to pursue investigations and seek retribution against their political rivals if he secures victory in the 2024 presidential race, potentially against Democratic incumbent Joe Biden.
Trump, facing numerous federal charges, primarily concerning his efforts to reverse his 2020 election defeat, asserts he's the target of a vendetta led by Biden and the Justice Department.
At 77, Trump, a leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, maintains his innocence.
Former Trump advisors Steve Bannon and Kash Patel, still closely associated with Trump, said on a podcast in early December that Trump is earnest about seeking vengeance against his adversaries.
Trump has consistently voiced intentions to retaliate against political foes in a second term, hinting at using federal law enforcement for investigations.
In a December interview with conservative commentator Sean Hannity, Trump vowed not to misuse his authority or become a tyrant "except on day one."
Trump's remarks suggest a contentious election period ahead. The Iowa caucus, initiating the Republican presidential nomination process, is scheduled for January 15, with Trump and his team planning numerous campaign events in Iowa starting January 3.
Trump's primary competitors for the nomination, Florida governor Ron DeSantis and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, are also intensifying their campaigns in Iowa and New Hampshire.
In his recent social media update, Trump disclosed a DailyMail.com-commissioned poll asking voters to describe his second-term plans. The word cloud from the poll showed "revenge" as the top choice, followed by "power," "dictatorship," "economy," and "America."
In his December 25 Truth Social post, Trump attacked his political dissenters, labeling them "thugs" and expressing, "MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!"
The Biden campaign has yet to comment on this matter.
In a December 21 memo, Biden's campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez depicted Trump's campaign as a danger to democracy, stating, "He is running a campaign on revenge and retribution – and at the expense of Americans' freedoms."

Bidden dictatorship and his slaves in media including TimesofIndi Jain brothers are dead serious in making America an Islamic Sharia state. That is why he is planning to put Trump in Jail and do whatever it takes to fix elections with big-tech Meta and Goog by his side. If he can achieve it with his Madarasas aka Universities where Sharia is already practiced, US will soon turn an ISIS hell.Read allPost comment
