DOGE hearing: Democrat Robert Garcia says he's brought a 'd**k pic', takes out Elon Musk's photo

The first hearing of the House Subcommittee on Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) turned fiery as Democrat leader Robert Garcia (D-CA) said he has brought a 'd**k pic' with him for the hearing and then presented a huge cut out of Elon Musk, the chief of DOGE. "In the last Congress chairwoman Greene (Marjorie Taylor Greene) literally showed a d** pic... So I thought I'd bring one as well. (shows the photo of Elon Musk) Now, this of course we know is President Elon Musk. He's also the world's richest man. He's the biggest political donor in the last election. He has billions of dollars in conflicts of interest and we know that he's leading a power grab also abided by and increased by Donald Trump and of course the chairwoman," Robert Garcia said.


Ahead of the hearing, Garcia claimed that he is on the DOGE committee specifically to prevent it from working.

This was the first hearing of DOGE after Elon Musk's department announced several cost-cutting measures which Democrats criticized and called out Elon Musk for grabbing federal powers. Garcia said Elon Musk is sending his unqualified staff including teenage staffers to make these drastic cuts from which his companies stand to benefit. Republican representative William Timmons attacked Garcia and said Musk is the richest man because he succeeds at his endeavors and that's why Trump appointed him to lead DOGE.

Rep Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M), the top Democrat on the subcommittee, accused Republicans of shielding Musk and Trump "as they are clearly breaking the law" before calling out Vice President JD Vance for "trying to rewrite the US Constitution by tweet and undermine the judiciary."

Greene who heads the subcommittee said at the beginning of the hearing that the legislative branch "will fight the war on waste shoulder to shoulder with President Trump, Elon Musk and the DOGE team."

Elon Musk's DOGE came under fire after Elon Musk's young staff clashed with the officials of USAID over some access and soon after that Elon Musk sounded the death knell of USAID. DOGE has one year's time to cut the spending of the government and they are scrutinizing each department to identify unnecessary expenditure drawing flak that DOGE is not qualified to do this and Elon Musk is not the person who should head this.

Donald Trump claimed Elon Musk is doing a brilliant job and if there's any conflict of interest, he would not be allowed to deal with that.
