‘Did Israel proofread it first?’: Donald Trump's son trolled after signing books in 'empty' store
It was meant to be a celebratory day for , but it turned into an awkward moment on .
US President Donald Trump proudly announced the release of his son’s new memoir, "Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation," on Truth Social, urging his followers to “get a copy” of what he called a “phenomenal book.” He wrote, “Don’t forget to get a copy of my son Eric’s book, ‘UNDER SIEGE,’ which is breaking records everywhere. It’s a phenomenal book, that’s a must read for everyone—Congratulations Eric, you deserve it!!!”
However, while the POTUS promoted the memoir online, his son’s in-person book signing told a different story. Eric posted a video from a bookstore in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, inviting people to pick up signed copies of his book. “Bunch of signed books here, first come first serve,” he said. “Come over to Barnes and Noble, Palm Beach Gardens, a bunch of signed books.”
Social media users were quick to notice that the store appeared empty.
Netizens started mocking the turnout, with one user commenting, “Looks empty,” and another saying, “No one has been waiting for you.” One quipped, “You couldn’t write a postcard, buddy,” while another added, “Your family had Gaza under siege and now you have our rights and freedoms under siege. That what this is about?”
Eric Trump’s book retails for $22 and claims to offer “an unfiltered look at the highs and lows of life in the Trump world,” featuring stories from the campaign trail, The Celebrity Apprentice boardroom, and the Trump Organization. It also includes a foreword written by his father.
However, Under Siege climbed to the top of Amazon’s best-seller chart on Tuesday, sharing the spotlight with 107 Days, a memoir by former US vice president Kamala Harris.
Earlier in the month, Eric had faced backlash during his press tour when he appeared to promote the book while paying tribute to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
