According to SelectSoftware Reviews, Georgia emerged as the low-ranking US state, which struggles with the highest turnover rate and average commute duration. Each US state is assessed by considering various factors, including income, commute durations, turnover rates, workplace safety, work hours, available paid leave, and more.

Georgia: Lowest-ranking US state in job satisfaction​​

Georgia emerged as the lowest-ranking US state in terms of job satisfaction, achieving an overall score of 29.62. It exhibits the highest turnover rate at 3.6%, fares poorly in terms of overall state happiness, and struggles with an average commute duration of 28.7 minutes.

Texas confronts workplace fatality challenge and long working hours​​

Texas faces a significant challenge as it grapples with a high number of workplace fatalities, recording 533 per year, according to a report. Additionally, it boasts the second-longest average working week in the US, surpassed only by Louisiana, with an average of 43.6 hours. Texas has an overall score of 30.36.

Florida's job satisfaction challenges: Low hourly wages, long workweek​​

Florida follows closely with a total score of 30.46. Despite an average wage of $38,470, Floridians face a long workweek of 41.5 hours, resulting in an average hourly wage of just $18, significantly lower than the $32 per hour earned by Alaskans. This, along with the absence of Paid Time Off (PTO) laws, contributes to lower overall employee satisfaction.

New York's high wages, workplace injuries, and commute challenges​​

​In the bustling metropolis of New York City, the third-highest average wage is $52,470, despite it the state grapples with a significant workplace injury rate, which resulted in over 247 fatalities last year. As a result, New York accrued a final score of 31.51.

South Carolina’s wage disparities, quit rate challenges ​​

Employees in South Carolina earn an average annual wage of $38,870, significantly lower than their Alaskan counterparts who earn $13,000 more. South Carolina lags behind in terms of overall state happiness and a high quit rate of 3.1%, resulting in a total employee satisfaction score of 31.65.

Alabama, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, and New Mexico struggle for employee satisfaction​​

Concluding the list of the top ten US states with the unhappiest employees, we find Alabama at 32.68, with Pennsylvania closely trailing at 33.14 and Virginia at 33.26. New Jersey scores 34.09, and New Mexico completes the list at 34.25.
