Rapper 6ix9ine begins three-month jail sentence, Adin Ross streams final moments
Rapper 6ix9ine turned himself in on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, to start a three-month jail sentence for violating his supervised release. The rapper surrendered at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he will spend the next roughly 90 days. The event drew attention as popular streamer Adin Ross accompanied 6ix9ine and streamed his final moments of freedom live on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, giving fans an inside look at the rapper’s check-in process.
In a video shared online, 6ix9ine received help removing his ankle monitor from social media influencer SteveWillDoIt and Adin Ross before joking about fleeing back to Miami. He captioned the post, “Thank you guys so much see you in 3 months ❤️.” Fans watched as the rapper prepared to start serving his sentence, which followed multiple violations of his supervised release after spending about a year in prison for a 2018 gang RICO case.
6ix9ine’s return to prison came after violating three conditions of his supervised release. Last March, police discovered cocaine and MDMA at his South Florida home, and he later pleaded guilty to possession. Additionally, he assaulted a man at a Palm Beach County mall, leading to further violations. Initially, his sentencing was scheduled for November 2025 but was postponed after a violent break-in at his home, where masked gunmen ransacked the house and briefly held his mother hostage.
Just prior to his eventual surrender, 6ix9ine had been a guest on a few podcasts and live streams, such as the Kick live stream on the channel of Adin Ross, where he repeatedly denied having suicidal tendencies and clearing up some earlier disputes. The live stream of 6ix9ine’s surrender gave fans a chance to witness the rapper’s final hours before prison, with the video hosted on Adin Ross’s channel, which quickly went viral.
6ix9ine will have to serve a prison sentence of nearly three months, after which he plans to get back to music and appearances. Recording the surrender shows the important role socialites and social media influencers are playing when it comes to streaming private events, allowing the masses access. Currently, fans of 6ix9ine will have to wait until he is out of prison, but the video of 6ix9ine’s meeting with Adin Ross became a popular topic among social media users.
