“I don’t have concrete evidence”: Candace Owens admits lack of proof as Piers Morgan presses on Charlie Kirk assassination
Piers Morgan did not hold back when he challenged Candace Owens over her claims about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The tense exchange happened on Wednesday during Morgan’s YouTube show, where he directly asked Owens to explain her repeated claims of a cover-up.
Right away, Morgan focused on one serious point. He pressed Owens about her past statements suggesting that people inside Turning Point USA, the group founded by Charlie Kirk, were somehow involved after his death. Morgan wanted names. He wanted proof. Most of all, he wanted facts.
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at a Turning Point USA event in September. Since then, Owens has shared many theories about who may be responsible. These claims have drawn strong reactions online and from Kirk’s family.
During the interview, Piers Morgan pushed Camdace Owens again and again to explain what evidence she actually had. As the conversation went on, it became clear the two were not going to agree. The clash quickly turned into a sharp and uncomfortable moment that grabbed wide attention.
Piers Morgan directly asked Candace Owens about her words regarding Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk’s murder.
“When you say that somebody at Turning Point USA, Charlie’s company, was complicit in his murder, who? Who was?” Morgan asked.
Candace Owens responded by saying, “I believe there were multiple people at Turning Point, as I have said many times, my exact words are, they are engaged in a cover up of what happened to Charlie on that day.”
Piers Morgan pushed back fast. “No, but who was involved in his murder?” he asked.
“I didn’t say that they murdered Charlie,” Owens replied.
“But you said the people at Turning Point were complicit in his murder,” Morgan said.
Owens answered, “No, my exact sentence that I said was there were people at Turning Point who are engaged in a cover up.”
Morgan rejected that explanation. “No you didn’t! I’m sorry you didn’t. Candace, you didn’t say that. You said literally there were people complicit in his murder. That’s what you said,” he told her.
Owens said she was “connecting the dots” and claimed a “grand conspiracy” was behind Charlie Kirk’s death. She also said, “I can say confidently that I know [TPUSA] are engaged in a cover up.”
Morgan then asked about proof. “And what evidence do you have that they had any prior knowledge of the murder?”
Candace Owens replied, “Because I don’t have concrete evidence is the reason why I’m not naming them.”
Piers Morgan responded sharply, “So you have no evidence, but you’re telling the widow that these two people may have been involved in the murder.”
Candace Owens has also shared other theories in recent weeks, including claims involving the U.S. military, foreign leaders, and intelligence agencies. None of these claims have been backed by evidence.
Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson shortly after the shooting. He faces seven charges, including aggravated murder. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Authorities say Robinson was turned in by his own family.
