DDG claps back after stranger questions his YouTube and streaming earnings
Rapper and content creator DDG has had a surprising experience on the street where one stranger questioned DDG whether the job that involves streaming and content creation on YouTube is "real work" that has the capacity to make millions. A video has surfaced where the 28-year-old content creator was hanging out with his friends near a Dior store. The stranger approached him where he expressed concern over kids these days thinking that streaming is some real job. This response made DDG stand his ground where he argued that content creation does not happen easily. The stranger even questioned whether it’s possible for the job to make millions.
The stranger attempted to equate his own income to that of DDG’s and asserted that he makes millions of dollars. DDG, whose estimated net worth is over $8 million, coolly shot back that he probably made more money than the stranger did. The stranger, who had at first refused to divulge how much he made, then proceeded to give DDG an unsolicited lecture. DDG remained composed throughout this awkward encounter and demonstrated that streaming and YouTube are real and lucrative.
The video starts with DDG greeting the stranger and his friend in front of the Dior store. After their brief interaction, the stranger stated, “This is what kids think work is, what you guys are doing.”
DDG was quick to reply, saying, “It’s hard work. You don’t think it’s hard work?” The stranger admitted it was work but said, “I think I’m driving a Bentley, and you guys are driving a Chevrolet”.
As soon as money was mentioned, the stranger asked if streaming and YouTube could make millions. DDG replied serenely, “I probably make more money than you… How much money do you make?”
The stranger refused to share his earnings, prompting DDG to further defend his profession. Later, the man offered advice on competence and success, but the exchange highlighted that many people still underestimate digital content creators.
DDG has demonstrated the success he has had with multiple online platforms with over 4 million subscribers on YouTube, over 2 million followers on Twitch, and nearly 7 million followers on Instagram. His musical success continued with the release of the track ‘Moonwalking in Calabasas’ with Blueface in 2020; it went double platinum. This interaction shows that even stars sometimes need to defend their work, but DDG handled it with calm and confidence.
