“Ain’t no way”: Nina Lin addresses Twitch permaban rumors after viral Target stream
Streamer Nina Lin has responded to online claims suggesting she has been permanently banned from Twitch, following weeks of controversy tied to her viral Target livestream. The rumors gained traction after users noticed the message displayed on her Twitch channel, which some believe signals an indefinite ban. While Twitch has not confirmed anything publicly, the wording has led many to speculate about whether Lin will ever return to the platform.
As the claims spread across social media on December 18, Lin quickly spoke out on Instagram to shut them down. She made it clear that she does not believe she has been permanently banned and insisted that people were spreading false information about her situation. Lin also hinted at a future return, suggesting she is already thinking ahead rather than accepting the rumors.
Lin directly addressed the speculation in a blunt Instagram post, writing, “Ain’t no way MFs making sh*t up now.” She accused people online of being overly focused on her and said she would be back on Twitch. In another post, she added, “Wait til I’m back. Can’t wait for them to be mad,” while asking followers to send her posts that claimed she had been permanently banned.
The confusion comes from the message currently shown on Lin’s Twitch channel. When users try to visit her page, it reads: “This channel is currently unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.” This notice is often linked to indefinite bans, while temporary suspensions usually show a different message. Twitch has never explained the difference, which has left Lin’s status unclear.
Lin’s latest ban followed a November 30 livestream where she was seen stealing items at a Target self-checkout. In the viral clip, she scanned cheaper items while taking more expensive products, including steaks. After viewers called her out, Lin admitted to the theft but brushed it off, saying Target “isn’t losing money.”
This was her third Twitch ban in just a few weeks, after earlier suspensions related to resurfaced “assault” clips. Despite the backlash and uncertainty, Lin remains confident that she will return to Twitch. Until the platform comments or updates her channel status, her future on Twitch remains unknown.
