During a reception for The Booker Prize Foundation at Clarence House on Tuesday, Camilla, 77, discussed her recovery. Despite Buckingham Palace being the official royal residence, she and King Charles III reside at Clarence House, which is situated near the palace.

This marked Camilla's first official appearance since November 5, when the palace announced her withdrawal from commitments to recover from a chest infection.

"I'm obviously getting much better, bit of sort of coughing going on," the Queen was recorded saying at Tuesday's reception, as shared on X by DailyMail royal correspondent Rebecca English.

The Queen remarked, "I really wanted to come."

Whilst speaking with American author Percival Everett, whose book "James" is shortlisted for this year's Booker Prize, Camilla said, "I'm on the mend, these things always take a bit of time to get rid of. You think you got rid of it, they just sort of hang on for a bit."

She added, "But hopefully, I'm on the mend now. It's nice to see you again."

The Queen, a dedicated literacy advocate, has long supported the Booker Prize, which held its annual ceremony in London on Tuesday evening.
