Prince William to return to royal duties after wife's surgery

Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles III and heir to the throne, is set to return to his royal duties after taking time off to care for his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, who underwent abdominal surgery. Kensington Palace announced on Monday that William, 41, will conduct an investiture at Windsor Castle on Wednesday and attend the London Air Ambulance annual fundraising gala in central London in the evening, reported AFP.
In January, both the royal family and the public were concerned about the health of Prince Charles and Princess Catherine. It was revealed that Charles was receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate, while Catherine was recovering from abdominal surgery. Charles was discharged from the hospital on January 29, just three days after his surgery. Shortly after, Kensington Palace confirmed that Catherine, 42, had also left the clinic following her surgery.
Their absence during their recovery period created a shortage of staff within the monarchy, with Queen Camilla, 76, taking on a more prominent role in public engagements. Reports suggest that Charles may require more time to recuperate, possibly until the end of February, while Catherine's office at Kensington Palace stated that she is expected to be out of action until at least March 31.
The officials did not provide specific reasons for Catherine's hospital admission but assured the public that it was not related to cancer.
