Norwegian royal Marius Borg Hoiby faces another sexual assault charge, victim was unaware until police discovered video
Norwegian royal Marius Borg Hoiby, who is already under investigation for multiple sexual assaults and drug offences, has once again come under scrutiny as a TV presenter alleged that he allegedly raped her during a basement party.
The 28-year-old son of Norway's future queen allegedly raped TV presenter Linni Meister, 39, in 2018 at Skaugum Castle during what he called 'Skaugum Festivals', which reportedly included criminal associates and motorcycle gang members.
The alleged victim was unaware about the incident until and unless police informed her following the discovery of evidences, Daily Mail reported.
At 'Skaugum Festivals,' burglars stole royal family items, including silverware, attempting to sell them through an auction house. The party allegedly continued in the castle basement whilst Crown Prince Haakon slept upstairs. Borg Høiby allegedly assaulted Linni whilst she was unconscious.
Authorities discovered evidence including three videos and over 10 photographs on Borg Høiby's laptop. Linni received notification about the alleged assault at Oslo Police Station, where officials showed her the evidence.
On Snapchat, Linni wrote: "I woke up to my phone falling to the floor, as it was being rung by the Norwegian and foreign press."
"I understand that there are many who want to comment on the case Se og Hør (Nowergian newspaper) is reporting today, but I will not comment on it, other than that it is true," she writes, and continues:
"Mostly to protect myself and my family, and because I really feel for the person's family. This has to end and we can't have this anymore, or more victims, so I really hope the person gets serious help."
Marius was first arrested on August 4, and has since faced a string of charges including assault and two rapes and as well as other sexual assault charges.
After his first arrest, he was then arrested again on September 13 for a different alleged assault and a third time in November on rape charges.
In a statement issued via his lawyer after the first charge, Borg Høiby said he suffers from 'several mental disorders' and has 'struggled with substance abuse for a long time'.
He then flew to London with his step-father Crown Prince Haakon to attend the rehabilitation centre.
Borg Høiby is also under investigation for another offence believed to have occurred 'a few hundred metres away' from the Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit's Skaugum Estate.
