Nawaz Sharif will soon return to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia to lead his party in the upcoming general elections, the deposed premier's brother Shahbaz Sharif has said.

LONDON: Nawaz Sharif will soon return to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia to lead his party in the upcoming general elections slated for later this year in the Islamic nation, the deposed Premier's brother Shahbaz Sharif has said.
However, he did not give any specific date for his elder brother's return. "I can assure you he will be back very soon. I can't give you any specific date, but he will be back to Pakistan very soon," Shahbaz told a news chaneel.
Sharif was deported to Saudi Arabia for the second time when he had returned to Pakistan on September 10 after seven years in "forced" exile.
Slamming the Pakistani government for deporting Sharif to Saudi Arabia inspite of Supreme Court allowing the deposed Premier to return home, Shahbaz said, "President Pervez Musharraf is guilty of contempt of court. It's not a simple offence, it's a serious crime -- a crime for which he can be debarred from holding a public post."

Shahbaz said that if self-exiled former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto abandoned her negotiations with Musharraf she was welcome back into the fold of the opposition, Pakistani daily the 'Dawn' reported on Wednesday.
"She leads a very large party. The opposition would be greatly strengthened with her return to its fold," he was quoted as saying.
Shahbaz told the daily that Sharif had met King Abdullah on Friday and on Sunday he had a sumptuous dinner with Maulana Fazlur Rehman of the JUI.
He, however, did not concede what the Saudi King had asked Sharif to do days before the former Premier had landed in Islamabad. "We could not have done that. We had made a commitment to the nation and taken a decision to return home immediately in the light of the Supreme Court ruling."
