Kate and William's popularity soars amidst Meghan and Harry's fall from grace

Over the past year, Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, have witnessed a remarkable surge in their popularity, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a significant decline in their public approval ratings, reported Express.

Since assuming their new roles in September of the previous year, the Prince and Princess of Wales have adeptly navigated their responsibilities. Their decision to maintain silence regarding the allegations made by Harry and Meghan appears to have positively influenced public perception.

Notably, the couple has chosen not to respond to either the Netflix docu-series "Harry & Meghan" or the Duke's personal memoir, "Spare." Instead, PR expert Edward Coram-James, speaking to Daily Express US, pointed out that William and Kate have adopted the quintessential British motto of "keep calm and carry on." This strategy has not only garnered public support but has also shielded them from intense media scrutiny.

Coram-James stated, "The Princess of Wales has enjoyed a largely controversy-free reputation for years. In contrast to the Duchess of Sussex, her popularity ratings have soared. She has remained low-key, avoided making a spectacle, committed herself to meaningful causes, and maintained a dignified approach."

He further commented, "She has successfully navigated a year devoid of controversy, despite the best efforts of the Sussexes, who seemed to strive hard to tarnish William and Kate's reputation."

The founder of GoUp highlighted the Wales's response to the accusations leveled against them by Harry and Meghan, particularly their alleged lack of support when Meghan joined the British Royal Family. He praised their poise, maturity, and dignity in handling the situation.

While Meghan's decision to skip the opening ceremony of Prince Harry's Invictus Games raised some eyebrows, Kate's response to the couple's comments allowed her more flexibility in attending events.

Coram-James continued, "Due to their 'keep calm and carry on' approach, by not engaging in provocations, their efforts backfired, and the Waleses emerged from the ordeal in an even more favorable light. They not only weathered the storm but rose above it. Moreover, because the Waleses have maintained a controversy-free year by focusing on their work, the public is content to grant them some time off to prioritize their roles as parents."

Recently, Kate chose to forgo William's Earthshot Prize summit in New York to stay in England with their three children.

A YouGov poll conducted in early September revealed that 62 percent of respondents view the Princess of Wales favorably, with William leading the poll at 74 percent. The poll surveyed 2020 British adults between August 26 and 28.

A survey by US pollsters Redfield & Wilton yielded similar results, with Kate emerging as the most beloved royal, boasting a net approval rating of +35, surpassing William at +24 and Harry at +22.
