'FRIENDS re-runs, Spanish food': Rishi Sunak, wife Akshata reveal common interests

NEW DELHI: With a month to go for the general elections in UK, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Sunday took to social media and shared a special post pointing out the common things he and his wife Akshata Murty share.

In a shared post on Instagram together, they pointed out six reasons that demonstrate they are similar to any other regular couple.



The post started with, “People always ask us - “What is the thing you have most in common?"

Further adding the six points, Rishi Sunak wrote, “It’s not just our shared love of watching FRIENDS reruns and eating Spanish food.

"We share the values.

We share the belief that hard work should decide where you go in life.

We share the belief that it takes bold action to make a difference.

We share the belief that our children will inherit a better world than the one we share today.

It was great to be together speaking to people in Harrow about the values that matter to them, and the future they want for their children."

Last week, Akshata Murthy shared a small message with her husband before the announcements of elections were made. In a post on Instagram, Akshata Murty shared her images with her husband Rishi Sunak and wrote, “I’m with you, every step of the way'. Britons will be selecting their next leader in the national election on July 4."

On 22 May, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, made a surprising announcement by calling for an early election, despite having until January 2025 to hold the elections.

Amid talks of growing discontent, Rishi Sunak confident of returning back to 10, Downing street again has said that the economy is "pointing in the right direction and the future is going to be better."
