Businesses hit by cash supply drought: Report

Businesses in Bangladesh are facing a liquidity crunch as the central bank has capped the withdrawal of cash from banks at 2 lakh taka (approximately Rs 1.4 lakh) amidst uncertainty in the country, a media report said on Monday. The central bank decided this due to security concerns as police are yet to return to work fully. Meanwhile, two central bank deputy governors, Kazi Saidur Rahman & Md Khurshid, and the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit , Masud Biswas, resigned Monday following directives from the interim govt. The bank's adviser Abu Farah Md Nasser also resigned.
