South Koreans shrug off threat from Pyongyang

SEOUL: Seoul on Wednesday, a city considered the soul of South Korea, despite the early morning shocker from the North that fired its deadliest Inter-Continental ballistic missile (ICBM) till date. On the streets, people seemed unimpressed with North Korean dictator

Kim Jong-un

’s “theatrics”.

At the same time, many said that Pyogyang’s actions were targeted more towards the US. People had learnt about the missile test in the morning from TV, but they said they were used to living with such threats.

“He (Kim Jong-un) is too young to run a country and he is bound to make lot of mistakes as he cannot control his mind,” said a Seoul University student. He said North Korea cannot use nukes because that would spell the end of the

Korean peninsula

.

A school teacher, Park Sang-se, said, “There’s no possibility of war. Kim is issuing threats only to the US; though sometimes, people may be concerned by his reckless actions.” At the border of the two Koreas, known as demilitarised zone (DMZ), about 56km from Seoul, many came to see the

Dora Observatory Post

manned by the South Korean army.

Through binoculars, they glimpsed North Korea’s abandoned Kaesung Industrial Complex. The visitors betrayed no sign of tension at the observatory post.

The South Korean army was playing modern Korean music on loudspeakers towards the North, where social life is in the vice-like grip of the Jong-un regime. An army officer said, “Our army is fully prepared to face any challenge.”

The dictatorial regime in the garb of democratic government in South Korea should ask its people if they ever like the presence of one hundred thousand US Marines stationed in South Korea. It is a kind of illegal occupation of the US of South Korea in the name of giving military and naval protection to South Korea from the perceived paranoia from the missile test ritually conducted by Pyongyang. There is simmering unrest within the population of South Korea and the ethnic originality of the Koreans are diluted with the infusion of American blood. This is nothing new. It happened with the diaspora of the Philippines. The culture of comfort girls (called Chocolate girls) has created a cross breed of population in the Philippines by the "Charlies" wrecking havoc with the women population there. The repeated street protests taking place in the streets of Seoul in South Korea against the prolonged occupation of the US forces is a simmering topic that would one day blast as civil unrest there. That would be the D Day for the US to scoot out of South Korea like how it was driven out by the valiant Filipinos in 1992-93. That is the same case with Japan as well. Hundreds of thousands of US troops are everywhere in the big 4 islands of Japan in the name of safeguarding the safety and security of Japan under some outmoded armistice. Such a kind of illegal occupation is impossible with North Korea. So brand it as a rogue State, impose sanctions, find pretexts like WMD in Iraq. Invade and singe out the nation with Agent Orange like in Vietnam, suck the oil and mineral resources and establish a Demilitarized Zone and Centcom and then sit on the head of Pyongyang like the US still sits on the head of Baghdad. Diluting the ethnicity first with American blood like in Saudi Arabia''s royal families, Jordan, Kuwait and the UAE. It is the "US Interest" often mentioned as the reason for the off-shore wars that the US wages fooling its own people onshore called Americans, sleeping soundly in their assets, the Triple "C"s. Cars, Cash and Condominium.
