A strong 6.3-magnitude earthquake shook Indonesia’s Sumatra island near Aceh province on Thursday, according to the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). The tremor, which struck at a depth of 10 km, was felt across the region, but authorities confirmed that there is no tsunami threat, Reuters.Indonesia, located on the seismically active Pacific “Ring of Fire,” is highly vulnerable to earthquakes and volcanic activity.
