NEW DELHI: A video in which a group of

New Zealand police

officers dance to Indian music at a Diwali celebration, to the delirious acclaim of a packed indoor arena in Chirstchurch, has been viewed more than half a million times on Facebook.

The video was filmed last Saturday at Chistchurch's Horncastle Arena, the New Zealand Herald reported. It was uploaded earlier this week by Chris Lynch, a television producer and talk show host.

In the video, five police officers display their impressive dance skills - visibly enjoying themselves - in front of a back drop that says "Police Line: Do Not Cross."


The New Zealand Police already been in the news this year for its officers' dance and music skills. In May, its recruitment division uploaded a video in which an officer busted out a 1980's dance move called 'The Running Man,' and challenged police departments around the world - including the world-famous New York Police Department - to respond with their own videos.

Earlier this month, NZ Police Recruitment uploaded another widely-viewed video in which police officers in an elevator seemed to begin an impromptu jam session by clapping their hands, stomping their feet, and banging on the elevator's walls.
