Jim Morrison bust found in France, 37 years after theft

The sculpture, missing since 1988, was found during a search tied to a fraud case led by the Paris public prosecutor's office, a source close to the investigation said. Nostalgic rock fans still flock to Morrison's grave at Paris's Pere Lachaise cemetery, where he was buried after his death in the French capital in 1971 at the age of 27. The sculpture, by Croatian artist Mladen Mikulin, had been placed at the grave to mark the 10th anniversary of Morrison's death.

Man who tried to sell stolen $6.4m gold toilet spared jail

A man who tried to help a burglar cash in from the theft of a golden toilet worth £4.74 million ($6.4 million) was spared jail on Monday after a British judge said he had been taken advantage of by the thieves. Frederick Doe, 37, was given a suspended sentence at Oxford Crown Court. The 18-carat gold fully functioning toilet was taken in 2019 from Blenheim Palace - the mansion where Winston Churchill was born.

Spain asks Airbnb to remove over 65k tourist rental ads

Spain's leftist govt on Monday said it had ordered Airbnb to take down more than 65,000 illegal adverts as it tries to balance the flourishing sector against a housing crisis. The world's second most-visited country hosted a record 94 million tourists in 2024. But residents of tourist hotspots have blamed short-term rentals for scarce & unaffordable housing.
