ISLAMABAD: A traffic policeman was killed by unidentified gunmen in the restive Swat valley in northwestern Pakistan even as security forces nabbed two militants during a search operation in the region, the army said on Tuesday.
The policeman was shot dead on Monday in Mingora, the main town in Swat district of the North West Frontier Province.
During a search operation on Monday, security forces apprehended two militants from a village in the nearby Shangla district, the army said in a statement.

The statement also said troops had busted a facility set up by militants near Spinkai in the troubled South Waziristan tribal area to make improvised explosive devices.
Four IEDs, 56 kg of explosives, arms and ammunition and grenades were seized from the facility.
