Faizan Ali, a senior superintendent of police, confirmed that two Chinese nationals had been shot, though no further details were provided. A spokesperson for Liaquat National Hospital stated that one of the victims was in serious condition and receiving treatment.

In October, two Chinese citizens were killed, and 10 others wounded in a suicide bombing near Karachi airport, an attack claimed by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army.

In March, five Chinese engineers were killed in a suicide bombing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Since the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a decade ago, 21 Chinese nationals have lost their lives in such attacks.

Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, condemned the recent violence, calling for decisive action against anti-China terrorist groups. At a seminar, he said that security concerns are the primary challenge to CPEC’s success. He urged Pakistan to enhance measures to protect Chinese citizens and projects, stating that "without a safe environment, nothing can be achieved."
