In a shocking case from Pakistan’s Punjab province, a man allegedly shot and killed his daughter after an argument over her TikTok activity, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Dhok Choudrian Takht Pari area of Rawalpindi district.
The father had repeatedly told his daughter to delete her TikTok social media account, according to officials quoted by news agency PTI. When she refused, he allegedly opened fire, killing her.
Forensic teams were called to the scene and collected samples. The body of the victim was sent for post-mortem examination to establish further details.
Police said the man ran away after the shooting. They have filed a report and are now looking for him. Officers said they are still investigating and checking all possible details in the case.
“The family initially tried to pass off the murder as a suicide,” police said. However, evidence gathered during the investigation pointed towards homicide.
