Social media platform X on Monday suspended the Hebrew-language account of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, a day after it was launched.
The account, under the handle @Khamenei_Heb, was taken down after Khamenei posted a message in Hebrew directed at Israel.
Khamenei on Saturday wrote, “The Zionist regime made a mistake, and made a miscalculation regarding Iran. We will make it understand Iran's power, capability, and resolve.” This post came amid heightened tensions in the region and was perceived as a direct threat to Israel.
A notice on Khamenei’s account now reads that it was suspended for violating X's rules. The suspension follows X's strict policies regarding threatening and inflammatory content, though no further comment has been issued by the social media platform on the exact rule violation.
