Watch: Israeli army prepares for 'precise operations against Hezbollah terrorists'

The Israeli army is preparing for "precise operations against Hezbollah terrorists" in southern Lebanon as tensions escalate along the border. On Tuesday, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that the 146th Division had commenced targeted operations, focusing on Hezbollah positions in the southwestern region of Lebanon.
The military also released a video showcasing soldiers preparing tanks and loading mortars, highlighting the army's readiness for more intensive combat.
The latest operations signal a further escalation of the conflict, with Israel determined to dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructure. Avichay Adraee, an Israeli army spokesman, reiterated calls for civilians in south Lebanon to stay away from coastal areas, warning of potential maritime operations against Hezbollah.

This came as the military announced that it had killed a senior Hezbollah commander, Suhail Husseini, in a strike on Beirut. Husseini, who was responsible for overseeing logistics, budget, and management of the group, was targeted just after the one-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas-led attack. The anniversary was marked by global mourning and protests.
Palestinian militants in Gaza also fired a barrage of rockets into Israel on Monday, underscoring their resilience despite the ongoing Israeli offensive that has resulted in the deaths of over 42,000 Palestinians, according to local officials.
Hezbollah, for its part, continues to launch attacks on Israeli positions, including rocket fire at troops in northern Israel.
The conflict has widened since October 2023, when Hezbollah began launching attacks in solidarity with Hamas following the deadly assault on Israel that killed approximately 1,200 civilians and resulted in the abduction of around 250. Currently, Hamas is still holding about 100 hostages, a third of whom are presumed dead. Hezbollah has continued firing rockets at Israeli positions despite suffering significant losses, including the recent strike that killed ten firefighters in southern Lebanon.
