1. The Line
Announced in 2021, The Line is the centerpiece of NEOM’s bold urban vision, a 170-kilometer-long, 200-meter-wide, and 500-meter-tall linear city consisting of two parallel skyscrapers stretching across the desert. Designed to be entirely zero-carbon, it will be powered by 100% renewable energy such as solar and wind. Every essential service will be within a five-minute walk, enhancing walkability and quality of life. A high-speed, AI-powered transit system will enable residents to travel from end to end in just 20 minutes. Green spaces, including a central park and continuous green corridor, will run the entire length. The city will integrate smart mobility solutions like autonomous vehicles and drone logistics, all while maintaining compact density to preserve 95% of NEOM’s surrounding natural environment. This groundbreaking project reimagines the future of urban living.
2. Oxagon: The Floating Industrial City
Launched in 2021, Oxagon is NEOM’s innovative industrial zone and is set to become the world’s largest floating structure. It is designed around Industry 4.0 and circular economy principles, emphasizing sustainable and tech-driven manufacturing. The city will feature a next-generation port and an integrated supply chain system, fully powered by renewable energy sources. Trojena is a striking mountain destination located at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,600 meters and spans 60 square kilometers. Designed as a year-round adventure tourism hub, it features ski slopes with sub-zero temperatures in winter, making it the first of its kind in the region. Trojena will also include a mountain amphitheater, luxury hotels, and lifestyle retail spaces. Emphasizing sustainability, it incorporates green architecture and outdoor wellness facilities that embrace the natural terrain.
5. Leyja: Redefining Hospitality
Launched in 2023, Leyja offers a transformative approach to tourism with three uniquely themed hotels: the Adventure Hotel, the Oasis Hotel (integrated into natural rock formations), and the Wellness Hotel (featuring mirrored exteriors). Several top-tier global architecture and engineering firms are contributing, including: AECOM, Zaha Hadid Architects, LAVA, UNStudio, Aedas, Bureau Proberts, Luca Dini Design (for Sindalah), Adjaye Associates, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and Studio Fuksas (presumed contributors).
