Qatar is set to experience unsettled weather at the start of the week, as strong northwesterly winds sweep across the country, raising dust levels, reducing visibility, and bringing a sharper drop in temperatures, the Qatar Meteorological Department has warned.
According to the department, fresh to strong northwesterly winds are expected to affect most parts of Qatar on Sunday, January 25, and Monday, January 26. The winds, advancing from the northern Arabian Peninsula, are likely to create dusty conditions in several areas, which may at times lead to reduced horizontal visibility, particularly during periods of stronger gusts.
The Qatar Meteorological Department also forecast a further fall in temperatures during this period, warning that residents may feel an increased sense of coldness, especially during the early morning and evening hours.
Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious, particularly motorists who may be affected by poor visibility due to dust. Those heading outdoors are advised to take the changing weather conditions into account.
Marine warnings will remain in effect around Qatar on both days, as strong winds are expected to impact sea conditions, making maritime activities more challenging during this period.
