Israel military video shows 'Hamas' involvement in Gaza hospital attack'

NEW DELHI: The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday released a video showing the deadly Gaza hospital explosion, saying it was caused by a "failed rocket launch" and not an airstrike.

Posting a 30-second video on X and IDF said : "A failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization hit the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City.

"IAF (Israel Air Force) footage from the area around the hospital before and after the failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization."



The IDF video suggests that a fire broke out at the hospital as the result of the failed rocket launch.

There were no visible signs of craters or significant damage to buildings that would result from an airstrike, it added.




Israel's military said it had seen no evidence of a direct hit on a hospital in the Gaza Strip the day before, where hundreds of Palestinians were killed in an explosion.

A military spokesperson told journalists that there was no structural damage to buildings around the Al-Ahli al-Arabi hospital and no craters consistent with an air strike.

The spokesperson accused Hamas of inflating the number of casualties from the explosion and said it could not know as quickly as it claimed what caused the blast.

A massive blast rocked a Gaza City hospital packed with wounded and other Palestinians seeking shelter on Tuesday, killing at least 500 people.
